This Valentine’s Day Editable Sight Word Game Board is a fun and engaging way for students to practice reading sight words. The word list is editable, so you can customize the game board with your own sight words, CVC words, or any other type of word list your class is studying. (Tip: I have even used basic math facts.)
To play the game, students take turns rolling a number cube and moving around the board. Students read each word they land on. The first person to reach the finish box wins the game.
This is a low-prep activity. The game board is pre-filled with a set of sight words. Keep or change them if you wish. Then, simply print and go. The game board comes in both color and black lines. Use heavy paper and laminate for durability. You will need to provide students with a number cube and small game pieces (counting chips, cubes, coins, buttons, bears, etc.) to move around the board.
*** Important Note About Editable Activities: In order to edit the word list, you must use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the PDF file. The editing features will not work if it is opened in your browser or another viewer.
